How it works

Wasted Spend finds money that produced zero conversions over the period you have selected — across every connected Source — and points it out at the most actionable level each platform supports, so you can cut it.

It is advisory: TheAdsHub never changes anything on the platforms. It tells you exactly what to negative-out or pause; you apply it.

The finder reads the blended performance views (Google + Meta together, with hidden accounts already excluded) over the global date range in the header. For each entity it sums spend and conversions over that window and keeps only those that:

  1. recorded 0 conversions, and
  2. spent at least the minimum-spend threshold (default ≈ 1 of your currency — this filters out trivial noise).

Everything that converted, or that spent below the threshold, is left out.

It surfaces each Source at the level where you can actually act on the waste:

Source Level Recommended action
Google Search term Add as a negative keyword
Meta Ad Pause the ad / ad-set
Other / future Sources Campaign Review / pause the campaign

New Sources are covered automatically at the campaign level — no change needed to start seeing their wasted spend.

  • Per-Source totals — total zero-conversion spend and item count for each Source, across the whole matching set (not just the rows shown).
  • Top offenders — the highest-cost zero-conversion entities across all Sources, ranked by spend, each with its recommended action.
  • For Google, the offending search terms can be copied straight out as a negative-keyword list.
  • Conversion lag & attribution — conversions can land days after the click, and each platform attributes on its own window. A very recent period may overstate waste; review with a window that has settled.
  • Intent matters — an upper-funnel / awareness term may legitimately show no conversions. Treat the list as candidates to review, not an auto-cut.
  • The minimum-spend threshold keeps the focus on spend that’s actually worth acting on; lower it to see the long tail.
  • Results respect the global date filter and exclude hidden accounts, just like the rest of TheAdsHub.
